Gidman & Co was formed in 2014 by Alex Gidman. Alex has been a professional cricketer since 2001, representing Gloucestershire and Worcestershire County Cricket Clubs, England A, MCC and Otago State in New Zealand.
Throughout Alex’s career, he has spent many years in Leadership and Captaincy, as well as being part of various management and leadership groups and forums. During this time, Alex has learned about people, how to get the best out of them and what drives them to deliver high performance under different and often challenging circumstances.
Gidman & Co are experts in identifying and focusing on the particular skill-sets and characteristics that sportsmen and women have and how to best translate these into the commercial world. We understand that each individual’s goals are different, varied and often changing; our role is to guide and assist our candidates in terms of the next stage in their career path when their sporting career is nearing conclusion or has ended.
We have direct experience of, and care passionately about, helping athletes through what can be a daunting and uncertain time in their lives. For us, quality, not quantity, is what counts in terms of differentiating ourselves in a saturated market, delivering a truly individual service to both our candidates and corporate clients alike.
We work tirelessly with businesses and organisations, large and small. Our clients appreciate and value our candidates’ invaluable experience of competing, winning and losing in the sports arena and enjoy meeting, and recruiting candidates that are ready to transfer those experiences from the sporting world into the workplace.
